Cat Show
So, we went to the cat show today. It was...um...different. I couldn't help thinking of that wonderful movie "Best In Show". I loved seeing all those cats, and there was this one Siamese who kept flirting with me. It was very instructional, more for Stephen than for me, because he got to see some full grown Maine Coon cats. Big, and beautiful, and very sociable. He even held one, just to show willing. Now, both of the breeders I had talked to were there. One was just as sweet as pie, showed us all her cats, let us hold them, told us their history, the whole nine. She doesn't have any kittens available, though. The other, who I'll call Sourpuss, barely gave us the time of day. As soon as Stephen opened his mouth, she clammed up and walked away. Just walked away. It was so weird. I said "I guess she didn't like the look of us"...I know some breeders are funny that way. Stephen thinks that she had a problem with the way he talks. Stephen speaks with what is known as a "posh" English accent. Sourpuss is from Dublin, originally, and she obviously took a dislike to him just on the basis of how he sounds. Weird. So, stuff her. I got in touch with another breeder this evening, and she has a bunch of kittens available, so we're going there tomorrow.
